Software Engineering

We design, build, and maintain custom software and digital products tailored to business needs. Our capabilities include end-to-end product development, dedicated engineering teams, cloud and DevOps, and application management and support.

We start inside the work, not the specification

Software problems rarely start as technical ones. A process runs on spreadsheets because no product fits it, or a release waits for the one person who knows the steps. So we begin with the people doing the work and the systems already in place, and we introduce change in an order the business can absorb, rather than all at once.

The people who design a system are the ones who build and operate it, so nobody hands over a document and walks away. Runbooks, dashboards and on-call procedures ship with the software. AI is part of how we engineer, and every change it drafts is reviewed by an engineer who can explain it before it merges.

Example use cases

Typical starting points

Engagements rarely begin with a technology choice. They begin with a situation like one of these, and the right kind of work follows from it, not the other way around.

Custom software

The process your ERP leaves out

Credit holds, returns or pricing exceptions handled in a shared spreadsheet beside the ERP, by the two people who understand it. We build the missing part, connected to the ERP and the finance ledger, so nothing gets keyed in twice.

Product

A new product with open questions

A customer portal or a tablet app for field staff, with a budget, a deadline and no evidence yet that people will use it. Discovery, design and an MVP answer that first, then the same team builds it out.

Cloud

A data center lease that is ending

A deadline is forcing a migration nobody planned. Each workload gets its own decision, whether to move it, rebuild it, replace it or switch it off, inside a landing zone defined as code with pipelines and access controls in place.

Support

An application that outlived its team

A system the business uses every day, built years ago by people who have since left. We document it, take over monitoring and incidents under agreed service levels, and fix the recurring failures instead of living with them.

Three ways to work with us

Which model fits depends on who should own the outcome. It can change as the work does, and changing it does not mean starting over.

Project teams, end to end

We own a defined outcome, from discovery to handover, with the backlog reordered by you as the work reveals more. Best when you want a problem solved and handed back.

Dedicated engineers in your team

Named engineers join your team, your standups and your repositories, and take direction from your tech lead. Best when you have the leadership and need more hands.

Operated services under contract

We run applications under a contract with agreed service levels: maintenance, incidents, monitoring and enhancements. Round-the-clock cover is one of the levels you can choose.

Questions before the first call

Start from who should own the outcome. A problem that is understood and needs solving is a project. When the product itself is still a question, discovery comes first. Leadership without enough people calls for added engineers, and a system that is built and needs running calls for support. One conversation is usually enough to tell.

Not sure which one you need?

Describe the problem in a paragraph and we will tell you which service applies.
